Manera Salty News: May ’25

Welcome to the team!

Cash Souter is an Outer Banks grom with a passion for surfing, skating, and protecting the ocean. Cash started competing in 2020 and quickly made a name for himself with his constant stoke and willingness to charge hard on every wave.

Ryan Leopold is all about chasing barrels and keeping it real, literally. A core member of the REAL Watersports crew, Ryan is the go-to guy when it comes to testing surfboards, creating content and sharing his feedback with the community.

3D Designed Wetsuits

The most important aspect of a MANERA wetsuit is probably the way it is designed. A wetsuit should fit your body, not the other way around.

That’s why we design ours on a 3D body, ensuring every panel follows the natural curves of the body, and therefore a perfect fit. Our wetsuits deliver warmth, durability, comfort, and a fit that performs.

The End of the World

The End of the World won the Audience Award at the International Feature Film Competition of the Brest Surf Film Festival!
Three of the athletes featured in the film – Ian FontaineYann Quilfen and Malo Jouanneau – were in Brest to attend the showing of the movie as well.

What happened in the Salty Community?

No. 1 Local Adventures

We have been encouraging our athletes to make the most of their own backyards and homespots, to show that you sometimes don’t need to go far to have fun.

Luckily, they’ve been keen on taking us all along for the ride on their local adventures.

This month, Sanna, or shall we say “a coastal creature of habit”, went on a surf trip worthy of a BBC nature documentary. Watch with the sound on.
Over in California, Luca spent the night by one of his favorite spots to make sure he would be the first one in the water the next day.

No. 2

Congratulations to María Catalina Turienzo, a local athlete from Argentina, who finished fourth in the Open Trophy ranking of the 2025 Formula Kite European Championships in Türkiye.

No. 3

Ian Fontaine and his surf club team 29hood have become the new 2025 French Interclub Champions!  This title earns them a place to represent France and Brittany at the Interclub World Championships, which will take place in Australia in early 2026.

Congratulations also to the club’s second team, which included Malo Jouanneau, who finished fifth!

No. 4

Since Rippin’ Rosie and her human are now part of the local MANERA U.S. team, we might seriously need to start thinking about a Hot Dog Magma line. What do you think?
One thing is for sure, she’s scoring a lot more than we are over here in the Mediterranean.

MANERA Salty News- April 2025

Keep it in the family.

MANERA has been established and nurtured by the same family since day one.
We are proud to be independent, and one of the only family-owned and operated brands in the industry today. However, family means more than blood. It’s also the people who have stuck with us since day one.

MANERA is built on relationships. Those forged with riders, dealers, and manufacturers over decades. Together, we’ve created a family that’s loyal, independent, and focused on building a lasting legacy.

From receiving the very first products to seeing them in the water all over the U.K., Dom Yule has been with us every step of the way. Part of the MANERA family since day one, he’s the proud uncle who’s watched it all grow.

Welcome Gatien!

Hailing from Guadeloupe, Gatien Delahaye is a stylish and powerful surfer with a passion for competition. His love for surfing began at age eight, as he and his brothers bought a board and took turns on it. Now a member of the French national surfing team, he has become a staple on the QS tour.

After a devastating knee injury derailed his 2023 season, he’s returned stronger, hungrier, and more determined than ever. Known for his smooth backside style and competitive drive, Gatien is determined to keep pushing and carving out a lasting career doing what he loves most.

The End of the World

Our movie “The End of the World” has been selected for the Retours du Monde Film Festival (May 20-24 in Gap) and the Brest Surf Film Festival (May 7-10). If you’re in the area, make sure to check them out!

What happened in the Salty Community?

No. 1

We have been encouraging our athletes to make the most of their own backyards and homespots, to show that you sometimes don’t need to go far to have fun.

Luckily, they’ve been keen on taking us all along for the ride on their local adventures.

This month, Marcela showed us around her favorite spots near Rio in Brazil, along with her dog Malo who’s surely living his best life. Back in March, Pete jumped on a boat and explored some hidden spots on the remote West Coast of Vancouver Island in Canada.

No. 2

Our team killed it at the first leg of the 2025 GWA Surf-Freestyle World Cup in Leucate!
Christopher MacDonald, reigning World Champion, took the win in strong Tramontana winds gusting over 40 knots.
Luca Vuillermet made it to the semi-final and placed fifth, while Ezio Bastianelli finished ninth.

No. 3

Ian Fontaine shared his latest surf edit, as he ventured in Morocco far from the crowded spots, between arid cliffs, camels and burning cactus. The goal, as always in FUN FIRST, was to find a wave, away from the crowds, and to enjoy it all.

Stay tuned for more!
