Stay Toasty: New 7mm Magma Booties

The Magma boots are made for cold and windy winter days.
Their Magma+ fleece acts both as an insulator and heat generator, and its fast-drying time prevents bad smells.

There is no toe separation. This brings better comfort and more warmth as the toes are all together. The sealing print around the shin brings a better grip between the wetsuit and the boot, and prevents the wetsuit’s leg from rolling up.

Foot support is essential to get a comfortable and performing neoprene boot. Our boots feature “SIDEWALLS” on each side of the foot to maintain it. We also use a stiffer neoprene around the front of the foot in order to hold the boot structure.

Last but not least, Manera soles are super thin in order to keep a direct and precise contact between the foot and the board. The micro-spikes on the sole provide a perfect grip on wax or on a pad.

Braiden Maither, Lifeline – Indonesia

“I don’t know if you’ll be able to surf again, let alone walk normally.”

No surfer ever wants to hear that, and certainly not a teenager in his prime. For 18-year-old Braiden Maither, it felt as if the doctors just pulled the rug out from under him.

Born and raised on Maui in Hawaii, Braiden started surfing at a young age, with his father showing him how to stand on a board at the age of two. At 10, he got his own surfboard, and the sport became his way of life.

He quickly started competing, and by the age of 18 had already been part of the WSL Qualifying Series for a few years. His future seemed almost all mapped out, until that fateful day. It took six months to get the correct diagnosis.

Six months of hundreds of doctor’s appointments, MRIs, scanners, and going through every test under the sun. Ankylosing Spondylitis. A rare form of arthritis affecting the spine, which with time thins and narrows to the point of never being able to walk again.

Now eight years later, Braiden has just returned from a laid-back, three-week surf trip with his friends in Indonesia. The southeast Asian nation is undoubtedly his favorite place in the world besides Hawaii. He is drawn by the locals, the food, the landscapes, the 17,000 islands, and of course the waves.

On this recent trip, he and his friends explored the Mentawai Islands. Every day, they grabbed their boards, hopped on a speed boat, and tried to find the best surfing conditions for that day.

MANERA BEANIE X RAIN JACKET

This winter has brought us much needed rain along with a cold front. But, that does not mean you need to feel the grunt of it. Stay warm in our latest arrivals: The Manera Beanie and Rain Jacket.

Fully water & windproof, the Rain Jacket protects you from the worst storms and make sure you go from your car to your wetsuit in the most comfortable way. Paired with our beanie, made out of 100% recyclable materials, you’re sure to stay both warm and dry.

It is useless to design a great jacket if the zipper breaks, gets stuck or corrodes. We only use robust 8mm YKK zippers made of nylon (anti-corrosion). In order to prevent any water or air leaks and to maintain the body temperature, we have secured the sleeves with a neoprene cuff.

Welcome to the team, Kyan Yang

Kyan Yang sets himself apart not only by his smooth style and effortless surf, but also by his colorful and fun boards. Hungry to make his mark, he loves to compete and is already a USA junior national team member.

“I originally started skateboarding at a young age and was very passionate about that. Then, I took up surfing because my friends were joining the middle school’s surf club. Slowly, it became more about surfing and less about skateboarding. Now, all I do is surf.” – Kyan Yang

THE INERTIA Manera X10D Review: Lightest, Best-Fitting Wetsuit

Warmth: 7
Stretch: 9
Durability: 10
Overall: 8.4
Sustainability: Dope-dyed yarn.
Features: No key loop/pocket.
Weight: 3.0lbs.

“For the past few years, I’ve been a massive fan of French-made Manera wetsuits. For those who aren’t familiar, their claim to fame is the “3D design” of their suits, which they say fits the shape of the human body better than suits designed in 2D, and I find it hard to disagree. These wetsuits fit me better than any other I’ve worn.

Where this suit truly shines is the lightness of the neoprene. Performance-wise, the suit feels like a 3/2, while retaining the warmth of a high-performance 4/3. And the weight reflects that as this was the lightest wetsuit I tried. It’s a full half-pound less than some of the steamers.

Another area where Manera’s wetsuits shine is durability. These wetsuits stand the test of time, especially in the seams. My one complaint is the lack of a key loop or pocket, but I’ve heard this feature will be rolled out soon across their line of suits (already in the new ALT x Yulex series).

If you’re interested in the fit of Manera’s suits, but are looking for something warmer, check out the Meteor Magma, the warmest suit I’ve ever worn.” – The Intertia

Discover the 2022 X10D wetsuits: Lighter and more flexible than ever. We use computer design to model good-fitted wetsuits in 3D, then we employ an innovative software that converts it into a precise 2D pattern for the factory. This means that freedom of movement and comfort are significantly increased compared to classic wetsuits.
